Ahoy, mateys! They call me Walter, and I like to look at the world upside-down – I love to lie on my back and see things from a different perspective. It’s quite interesting, you know. As you can see from my photos, I also love to cuddle up by a warm fireplace. So cozy!
My foster mom describes me as a fun-loving, active puppy and a bit of a goofball. I’m about 8 months old and am just getting settled in with CBHR. I have a few medical issues to deal with before I’m ready for my forever home, and I need to work on my fear of meeting new people, especially men.
My fosters and the wonderful volunteers at CBHR are going to help me find a trainer who can work with me to improve my confidence and comfort level. They are also helping me learn excellent hound manners so I can be a great family dog.
As a young guy, I’m likely to have a lot of potential adopters interested in me, but please look around at some of the other dogs on this site. Many of them are listed as on hold because they are still getting medical needs met, like spaying or neutering, vaccinations and other issues that need veterinary care. We don’t get a lot of puppies in, but some of our older hounds and those with special requirements have already learned their house manners and are just waiting for a special family to adopt them.
