About Me
*Toby has been adopted!*
Hi, everyone! My name is Toby, and I’m a handsome, black-and-white basset boy, just 2 years old. I love to cuddle with people, and to be honest, I’m kind of lost without my people or my foster pal Daisy around.
My separation anxiety can be pretty bad sometimes. My foster is hoping I’ll adjust better once I am used to being in a safe, loving environment, but right now I tend to bark when I’m left alone. I was crated most of my short life, so I have some trauma with that. But my wonderful foster mom and doggie daycare are trying to acclimate me.
Don’t let that stop you from thinking about adopt me as your forever hound. I enjoy playing with Daisy, but I also love to chill in the backyard sometimes too. I’m good with humans of all ages, and I like to ride in the car.
My leash manners are a work in progress, as is my housetraining. But I’m catching on. Patience and love can accomplish so much when working with a rescue hound like me. And my foster mom has lots of both!
I’m not aggressive at all, and as I mentioned, I adore people! I may be a diamond in the rough, but with some gentle guidance, I can make some family a great dog! My foster mom reports that I am a sweet guy, and I love to sleep in the bed with her.
I sure would be happy with a family that is home most of the time and lets me sleep in the same room as a human. I feel much safer with someone nearby. I’d probably enjoy having another dog around, too. I haven’t been observed around cats, though.
Listen, it’s not often that CBHR gets young-uns like me. If you think you’d like to adopt me – or some of the other fine bassets available for adoption – contact CBHR and tell them Toby sent you!
