About Me

*Syra crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 12, 2023. As a forever foster, she spent her latter years loved and well cared for, with all her medical needs met. She brought joy to her foster family, and now she is free to run with the pack at the Bridge.*

I am Syra! My foster mom says I am a sweet dog. I’ve come a very long way since I arrived at CBHR from a shelter two years ago.

At the time, I was not spayed, had a nasty wound on my back, and my hair was matted and falling out. I was heartworm positive, but they treated me for that! I also have skin allergies treated with a daily dose of Apoquel, and I have special shampoo and food to keep my allergies under control.

Even so, I have bonded with mt foster mom. Despite the challenges she faced, Syra has bonded with her foster mom and is doing well. I am now one of CBHR’s Forever Fosters, which will allow me to live with this loving family as long as I live.

I am very mild-mannered and loving.  I move around at my own pace. I like to follow people, but do not like to have anyone behind me.  I do well outdoors and like to rest on the porch or be with other dogs in a fenced yard.

I can get a little overwhelmed meeting new people, and I am working on getting over my fear of men. My foster mom has built my trust, and I follow her around like a shadow!  I got a second chance, thanks to people who have donated to help with my extensive medical needs.

Being a CBHR Forever Foster is like a dream come true!
