About Me
Greetings, everyone! My name is Sophie and I am a 3-year-old girl whose previous family moved to an apartment and didn’t think I would like not being able to have my own yard. I’m on the chunky side, but my fosters are working with me on a healthy diet and getting a little exercise.
They also want a vet to check me for medical problems that might be causing my weight gain. But I am in a loving home and I’m settling right in. My foster people just lost a beloved dog, so I am comforting them while they give me pets and loves.
I enjoyed the car ride and slept most of the way, and I really like that my fosters have a ramp so I don’t have to use the stairs when I go in and out.
I am a very sweet girl, and I get along with other dogs. I met four beagles belonging to my foster parents’ daughter and we had a good time.
Naptime is my favorite – nothing like a good snooze to make a girl feel beautiful. I get a bit disoriented if I’m abruptly awakened and tend to be a bit grumpy about that. I also don’t like it when the people leave. They are hoping I will be less anxious once I adjust to the household routine and realize I am safe and my foster parents are returning.
Did I tell you I get along with the cat? Well, let’s just say the cat tolerates me and I’m still deciding whether to get any closer. Every once in a while, I get a look in my eye that says I am thinking about chasing the kitty, but Foster Mom tells me no and I obey.
I am listed as adoption pending, but keep checking back on me to see if I have found my forever home. And let CBHR know if any of the other great hounds on this site might be your forever basset. Tell them Sophie sent you!
