About Me
*Slim has been adopted!*
Howdy, folks! They call me Slim, because I came to CBHR very underweight and neglected. I was only about 27 pounds when the vet first checked me out, but I am bulking up because of good medical care and some high-quality chow. I’ve gained more than 10 pounds! It’s so nice to be getting some good groceries into this skinny belly.
Despite being malnourished when I got here, I’m an energetic, happy and – according to my foster mom – “somewhat dopey” guy about 4 years old. I don’t mind the label; I’m just being me!
I love everyone I meet, and I’m good with most kids, although I haven’t had much experience with the babies and toddlers. I sleep well in my crate but don’t like to be in there if it’s daytime. There is too much life happening out there for me to be cooped up! Foster Mom is helping me understand that my crate is my safe spot.
I act much younger and love to play with other dogs. I do tend to mouth when I’m playing, but I’m not being aggressive, and Foster Mom is working with me on more acceptable ways to be playful. Once I’m done playing, I am super chill and sweet. Foster Mom says I’m a real “snuggle monster.”
My potty training is coming along, and I’m still waiting to figure out some medical stuff, as well as getting to a healthy weight & getting neutered before I’m ready to meet my forever family. But I can’t wait!
If you’re looking for a fun, playful and loving houndie, look no further! Contact CBHR and see if we might be a good fit for each other. I’ve got some time before I’m ready for my close-up, but I’m certainly worth another look. Just ask for Slim!
