About Me

*Scottie has been adopted!*

Hiya! They call me Scottie, and I’m a cute young basset, just a little over 2 years old. I’m a rambunctious guy with a penchant for mischief. But that may be because I haven’t had a lot of guidance.

Among my shenanigans: I like to counter surf and have managed to scarf down some cookie mix, a can of peanuts, a package of English muffins and had a drink of olive oil. I also knocked off some bottles and broke them (my bad). I’ve given my foster mom a lot of heartburn with my antics, but thankfully, I have started to settle down after being neutered.

I just have lots of puppy-like energy and curiosity. Neutering, structure and positive reinforcement should help me find my best basset self. I’m already adoption pending – and I hope my new family continues to work closely with me because I have a lot of potential to be a good basset.

I’m good with people of all ages, as well as other pets. I also walk well on my leash and enjoy riding in the car. I am also reliably housetrained.

I love to do zoomies around the house and have a lot of energy. Lots of exercise and gentle discipline can help rein in the puppy tendencies I still have. (A tired dog is a well-behaved dog!)

Since I have a family that wants to adopt me, I’d love it if you would look around on this site for some of our other bassets, especially our senior dogs and dogs with special needs. I’m told Daisy Mae and Elvis are now available for adoption after Elvis’ anxiety has been treated. Murray had bad ear infections but regular ear cleanings at the vet should help prevent a recurrence.

And there are going to be some other new-to-rescue dogs on the website in the coming weeks because it’s been raining bassets here at CBHR. Too many houndies are winding up in a situation where they need a rescue like this one. If you can help, even in a small way, we sure would love you for it!

Keep checking back to see how I’m doing. I’m so excited to meet my forever family! Scottie is signing out!
