About Me

*Rosie has been adopted!*

Howdy, everybody! Rosie here, and I’m an energetic, playful girl who acts more like a pup than the 4-year-old young adult hound I am. I was one of the 12 outdoor hounds CBHR transported via caravan from our previous owner, who could no longer care for us (if you were following along on our adventure, I’m the one previously named Anna). Foster Mom says I’m a sweetheart who gets along with two fellow hounds and a cat, and I love the people.

I’m a fast learner – I use the doggie door, am crate trained and am pretty possessive if another critter tries to take over my spot, and I love, love to eat. I am so exuberant and excited about all things in my new world that I am going to need some guidance to help me bring out my best basset self. I would probably do best in a household without infants or toddlers.

Foster Mom says I need a “slow bowl” to prevent me from inhaling my food too fast, and I need to work on my severe separation anxiety, as well as my barking and jumping tendencies. In many ways, I act just like a puppy who hasn’t yet been introduced to boundaries, but the CBHR fosters are the best, and mine are working to help me learn how to control my overexuberance and fears.

I also am an escape artist – I’ll run out the door if you don’t keep an eye on me. My ideal forever family will be able and willing to work with me on my obedience and other behavioral challenges, but in return, I’ll be a loving and oh-so-much-fun member of the clan.

I’m still a work in progress, but keep checking back. And look around on this site at some of my fellow bassets – there are plenty of hounds waiting for a family to love.
