About Me
*Rayne has been adopted!*
Well, bless my heart – hello! My name is Rayne, and I have an outpouring of love to give the right family. I’m a sweet 4-year-old girl, but very shy when I first meet new people. We Southern belles are taught to approach new situations delicately. My fosters think I was an outdoor dog with little contact with humans (I honestly can’t remember because I’ve been getting so much love since being rescued by CBHR that I forget about all the negatives that may have come before.)
Despite my reticence, I really warmed up quickly to my foster parents, and they believe I will take a little time to adapt to a new household, but they think I will do well once I find my true forever family (they want to continue fostering so they can help even more hounds).
My foster sibling is another CBHR basset – Date – and he’s available for adoption also. Have a look at us and see if one of us might be your new loyal companion. We aren’t bonded, so we don’t need to go to the same home, but we do get along pretty well.
That is, except at mealtime. We are fed separately because Date really devours his food and I don’t like being interrupted when I’m enjoying my morsels. (We ladies are taught to be dainty eaters.)
Because I am scared of new people and situations that startle me, I probably would be best for a family without children.
I just adore being outside and am a pro at using the doggie door to let myself out. I am reliably housetrained, so no worries there.
I do have some anxiety, and a family that gently helps me learn socialization skills would be my ideal match. I like to meet new people on my own terms, a little at a time, but I do well once I get to know you!
My, I do go on. If you think you might like a sweet, somewhat shy but not aggressive basset girl, give CBHR a holler (better yet, click on the adoption application or hit the “Contact Us” button at the bottom of our website) and ask for more information about me, Rayne. I’ll be over the moon to meet you!
