About Me
Atten-HUT! You may salute me now. My name is General Patton – Patton for short – and I’m a distinguished senior basset. I came to CBHR because my former owner’s medical condition made it difficult to give me the care I need. I’ve lived most of my life outside, so imagine my delight when I found out my foster family provided me with the run of the house!
I’m still having to learn some rules of etiquette and housetraining. And I am learning with the help of my foster sibling Walter, a smart terrier. We get along pretty well, although I am still learning how to share the love and attention. We’ve shared some growlies when I wanted to share the same bed as Walter, but we are moving in the right direction.
My foster people live at the beach, and they say I am the sweetest guy! They have left me alone in the house and I am well-behaved. I also love my fenced yard, where Walter and I can run and play, and where I can snooze with the sun on my back.
I get along very well with adults but don’t have a lot of experience around the kiddos. I also haven’t been in my foster home long and haven’t had time to experience big crowds yet. But I enjoy riding in the car, and I am good on a leash.
We are still in the trial phase here, but my fosters are thinking I might have already found my home. But do keep checking back on my progress and check out some of my fellow basset hounds on this site. We are all looking for our forever families!
This is General Patton saying, “At ease!”
