About Me
Hello, basset hound fans! I’m Otis, and I came to CBHR with Beau, my best buddy. We are a pair of friendly, easygoing guys. Since we are bonded, we will need a home that can make room for both of us, but I tell you, two bassets are better than one.
We get along well with people and other dogs, but we don’t have a lot of experience around cats. I love to eat and will poach Beau’s food if given the chance. I’m not food-aggressive, I just take advantage of every opportunity to gobble some more food.
I’m a couple of years younger and more energetic than Beau, but neither of us is high-strung or overexuberant. We are housetrained, but Beau has had a few accidents when he gets nervous.
We are crated during the day when our foster mom works, but we don’t mind – it’s good to get some good naptime in. We enjoy each other’s company and are just a couple of good ol’ boys loving life. We like to play together and then we will zonk out.
We like adults but don’t have any experience around children. Our foster mom plans to see how we do around the kiddos once she has a chance. We walk well on a leash, although I’m a clever dude and once tried to wriggle out of my collar. Foster Mom now makes sure it’s secure when I get ready for a walk.
All in all, she thinks we would be great forever companions for the right family. We are bassets to the bone, and if you like bassets, you’ll like us.
We still have to get neutered, but we are looking for our forever family. If you are interested in a pair of laid-back hounds, get in touch with CBHR and let them know you want to learn more about Otis (that’s me!) and Beau.
