About Me
*Maggie and Murphy have been adopted!*
Well, howdy, folks! My name’s Murphy, and I’m a 3-year-old boy who came to CBHR foster care with my best friend Maggie. I’m a little more outgoing than she is, and sometimes it takes me longer to figure things out – like the doggie door, which confused me a lot at first. I think I’m finally getting the hang of it!
As a basset hound, I naturally love the sound of my own voice, and I use it often. I also love, love, love me some groceries. Counter cruising is my jam, and I am always ready when the dinner bell rings. I sometimes try to help myself to Maggie’s chow, but she growls to let me know I shouldn’t do that. And Foster Mom is trying to teach me not to help myself to food that is on the counter.
I really want to make friends with humans and other dogs, but my deep basset rumble sometimes scares my canine pals off. We are working on ways I can express my enthusiasm without frightening potential friends
Maggie and I could both use some obedience training, but Foster Mom is seeing to our needs. She loves having us around and wants to adopt us. I’m so excited!
If you found us, please take a look at the other houndies on this page. We are getting a lot of new bassets in lately and they are all looking for their forever families. Also, CBHR is an all-volunteer organization that looks out for the medical needs of all their rescue hounds. If you are looking for a good cause to donate to, Carolina Basset Hound Rescue would be grateful for any amount. Everything goes to helping basset hounds find their new forever home.
This is Murphy, signing off for now with a low basset bark. Here’s to finding your perfect basset hound friend!
