About Me
* We are sad to announce that Max went to the Rainbow Bridge on March 7, 2026, after a serious medical problem. He spent these past months in the loving care of his foster family, who was saddened by his loss. Run free, Max! *
Hello there! My name’s Max – as in, “adorable to the Max.” I’m a 7-year-old senior boy and am settling into my foster home, which I share with another dog and a cat. So far I haven’t shown aggression toward the cat, but I do chase it. Foster Mom thinks I might be OK with cats but keep checking back on that.
My canine foster brother and I get along OK. We are fed separately to prevent any food aggression that may arise. I’m pretty laid back about it – I don’t even get out of bed when my foster bro is being fed. (I do like to munch on his leftovers if he has any, but we haven’t had any scuffles about that.)
I’m a smart hound, and when Foster Mom tells me to go outside, I do. I look to her for my cues, but she is trying to teach me that I can tell her when I need to go. I love being with her and want her to always be where I can see her for reassurance.
I’m a good boy and lounge in my crate when she goes out. I don’t whine or howl at all, and I wait patiently for her to let me out when she returns. I also sleep in there.
One note: I’m a long dog with a mischievous streak, and I counter surf when I’m left to my own devices. There’s just something about those human groceries that I can’t resist.
I’m enjoying my foster home, but I sure would like to meet my forever family. Take a look at this handsome face and consider giving a guy like me a home. Just contact CBHR and tell them you think Max is the max!
