About Me

*Maggie and Murphy have been adopted!*

Top o’ the morning to ya! I’m a 2-year-old girl named Maggie, and I came to CBHR with my best friend Murphy. We are quite the pair. I’m a bit leery of strangers, and I am generally an anxious girl. I run away from strangers and other dogs, but I’m a love when you get to know me.

Fortunately for me, my foster loves my quirks and is working with me so I can fully enjoy the basset life. I love to snuggle with my people and be right next to them, and my loves more than make up for my oddities.

Being a lady, I don’t have a voracious appetite, by my foster mom offers me food several times a day, and I’m not going hungry. (I will, however, steal people food if you leave it out.)

On the other hand, Murphy loves his food and sometimes tries to take mine after he devours his own dinner. I let him know who’s boss when that happens.

We could both use some obedience training, and I would benefit from some training to help me be more comfortable around other people and dogs, but Foster Mom is seeing to our needs. She loves having us around and wants to adopt us, so paws crossed!

If you found us, please take a look at the other houndies on this page. We are getting a lot of new bassets in lately and they are all looking for their forever families. Additionally, CBHR is an all-volunteer organization, and their goal is to make sure all of our medical needs are met, so if you are looking for a good cause to donate to, Carolina Basset Hound Rescue would be grateful for any amount.

If you’ll pardon me, this young lady needs to go get some snuggle time. Maggie out!
