About Me

What a beautiful day to be a basset hound! Well, to be honest, every day is a great day to be me, now that I have found CBHR and (I hope) my forever family! My name is Lacy, and I’m a 6-year-old girl just looking for love and some constancy in my life.

My foster mom says I’m a very sweet girl, and loving, too. I love to play with the other dog in the household – I love some games! – and I really enjoy playing with my toys. I can get a bit rowdy when I play because I get so excited, but I am learning my house manners.

I already am reliably housetrained and don’t show aggression (although the other dog and I got into a tussle over who got to play with the toy bone). I’m always on the lookout for a tasty snack and have been known to counter cruise looking for food, but overall I am a good girl.

I’m energetic when it’s playtime, but I also am happy to settle in and chill when quiet time comes. My former owners said I was jealous of their toddler, so I probably wouldn’t be a great match for kids, but my foster mom just loves, loves, loves me and wants to adopt me!

Walks are one of my favorite things, and I walk politely on a leash, but as a girl driven by her nose, I like to stop and smell the flowers (and anything else) along my route.

I’m so lucky to have found my perfect match so quickly, but there are some other hounds here who have been waiting a while to find love. Some of them are experienced seniors, and others haven’t found the right people to help them with some of their behavior issues, but they all want to find their happily ever after.

Please have a look and contact CBHR if you have a special place in your heart and home for a hound who isn’t quite perfect but, with the right support, could be a happy, loyal companion.

And if you are looking for a worthy cause to donate to, please consider CBHR. The humans here are all volunteers – no one gets a paycheck – so all of the money goes toward medical care for the houndies and support services to help them get adopted.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Check back frequently, because unfortunately, there are still so many bassets who need CBHR and will be available for adoption in the future. Lacy out!
