About Me
Well, howdy! I’m Knox, a 3-year-old Beagle who came to CBHR with Delilah, a basset hound of the same age. We are currently listed as a bonded pair, and from my perspective, I do need another dog around to keep me company. Our foster mom is trying to determine how bonded we are, though, so stay tuned.
I really love being around people and miss them badly when they are gone. I have some separation anxiety when they leave, and another dog to comfort me would be most helpful. I’m also an escape artist, following the scent of whatever I’m on the trail of even if it means getting out of a sturdy metal fence, which I did the other day. My new forever home will need a secure fence that I can’t dig under or climb over.
I love to go walking, and I’m good on a leash. I don’t bark at children or adults while I’m on my excursions, but I’m an expert watchdog at home. If someone walks by the house or into the yard, I will bark through the window. Speaking of smart, my talents include ringing a bell when I need to go outside!
Now, you’ll need to keep me well-supplied with chew objects and other tough toys, because I’m really good at tearing the fluff out of those that aren’t made to stand up to my jaws. I’m not destructive, but I do sometimes try to chew on things I’m not supposed to.
I’m not food-aggressive and neither is Delilah. Neither of us loves getting into our crates, but we settle in and sleep well once we get used to it.
We aren’t quite ready to meet our forever family yet, but CBHR will update our status once we are. However, if you’d like to know more about us, contact CBHR and tell them you’d like information about Knox and Delilah.
And I’d like to put a plug in for my fellow beagles, Wrigley and Fenway, who came to CBHR when the beagle rescue was overflowing. They are ready to meet their forever family right now!
I’m off to do some more chewing now. Knox out!
