About Me

Well, hello there! I’m a young girl named June, and I’m a real love bug. My fosters are helping me contain my energy while I’m trying to get rid of these nasty heartworms, and then I will be ready to for anything.

I’m very sweet, and my fosters just adore me. They are even talking about adopting me! They say I have some strong hunting instincts and love to chase rabbits, squirrels and birdies, but they keep an eye on me. My ideal day would involve several long walks, but I am still learning my leash manners. I’m a strong girl and like to pull to get to all the interesting sights and smells along the way.

My foster mom says I’m a smart girl, and to prove it I am learning my house manners and other skills I need to be my very best basset self. I’m very loving with women and the kiddos, but I’m a little skittish around men. However, my fosters are very patient with my training.

They say I’m fearless, and, well, I also have a bit of basset attitude. Not long ago, I decided I didn’t need a bath, but my fosters disagreed. I’m not a fan of delivery drivers – I need to protect my territory! – and I have some separation anxiety my foster people hope to help me overcome once I trust that they are coming back.

All in all, I’m a happy work in progress, and I look forward to being moved to the Happy Hounds section of this website! Until then, this is June, saying, “Bassets are the best!”
