*Joseph has been adopted!*
Greetings to all basset lovers! My name is Joseph, and I’m one big love bug. My foster mom describes me as very special, and I will follow you anywhere because I want nothing more than to be near my people.
I’m one of the 12 hounds that arrived in CBHR’s care via a giant, one-day caravan to transport us from our previous owner who could no longer care for us. My foster mom calls me “Mr. Personality” because I am so much fun. She says I’m clumsy and goofy and act much younger than my almost 9 years.
Appetite is no problem with me. I always clean my plate and am happy to eat in my crate, and I now do well in there when left alone. However, I do really well just free-ranging in the house. I sleep all night with no problem, and Foster Mom has seen no aggression in me whatsoever.
I get along great with the littles and other dogs, and I get along with the cat. You have to watch me, because I will follow you right out the door if you’re not looking. I do like to announce my entrance with a bark or howl when I come into a crowd.
I have a birth-related misshapen front paw and some pretty bad arthritis as a result, so I limp a little – but I don’t let that stop me from getting around. I am on anti-inflammatory meds to help with that problem.
I just had my teeth cleaned to enhance my basset smile, and I will soon be ready to meet my forever family. If you have room in your heart and home for a fine basset family member, contact CBHR and ask about Joseph! But also, please check around the site, because we have lots of other hounds who are just waiting for their forever homes!
