About Me
Hey there! They call me Joey, and before you ask, I’m a fun-loving basset girl, just about a year old. As you might imagine, I love to run and play. Chasing or wrestling with the most active of my foster siblings is just about the most fun I can have. I also adore my toys and will play with every one in the bin until it’s empty.
And I am one happy pup! My fosters say I don’t have an aggressive bone in my wiggly body, and I’m pretty easygoing. I adapt well to most situations without a bit of fuss. As a young basset, I’minterested in everything. Curiosity is my middle name. I get so excited when I run across new people, pets or smells, and I take all of it in.
If you have stairs in your home, never fear. I bound up a flight of steps like I’m chasing a rabbit. I am reliably housetrained, and I also love to ride. I generally snooze on car rides, either in my crate or just lounging on the backseat. I just had my first golf cart ride, and it was so much fun!
Now, we bassets are known for our sensitive noses, and mine can sniff out a tasty morsel at long distances. When my foster dads and I go out, I’m always interested in what all the people aroundus are having. One of my less attractive habits is that I counter surf, so keep the good stuff where I can’t reach it. My fosters say I haven’t actually pilfered any goodies yet, so they know how to save me from my temptations.
Mostly, though, I’m a loyal, polite girl. I’m also good at taking care of my people. One of my foster dads has been sleeping in a recliner following arm surgery, and I sleep right there beside him on a beanbag chair. If he needs me, I’m there for him!
Although CBHR says I haven’t been observed around the younger humans, they think I would be well suited to an active family with some kiddos I can play with. I also do well with other dogs – especially if they like to romp and play.
If you read this and think I might be a good fit for your family, contact CBHR to learn more about me. You won’t be sorry you did. I’ll be waiting with my tail wagging! This is Joey, off to play another day!
