About Me

*Homer has been adopted!*

Why, hello there! They call me Homer, and I’m a young guy, about 2 ½ years old. When my foster dads took me home, I took a look around and made myself right at home. I get along great with all the dogs and cats that live on this farm.

I really love home-cooked meals, and I haven’t been interested in anyone else’s food thus far. Since coming here, I have had the time of my life. The other day, we went to a dog-friendly restaurant, and I enjoyed meeting all the other people and dogs.

I like riding in cars, too! And one of my favorite things is choir practice – one of us dogs will start baying and howling, and the rest of us will join in.

In fact, I love it so much here that I am not planning to leave. My fosters love that I fight right in here.

But if you love bassets, please take a look at my fellow hounds on this site. And believe me, there are more coming in. It’s been raining bassets lately, and CBHR tries to help as many as it can. That takes money, though, because we need medical care, and some of us need a lot of it. If you’re looking for a cause to donate to, this one is well worth it – all contributions go directly to hound care or to support the all-volunteer mission of this group.

We CBHR hounds aren’t all perfect, but they work hard to make sure every basset made available for adoption has a chance for a happy ever after with the ideal family. Have a look around, and if one catches your eye or tugs at your heartstrings, contact CBHR and tell them Homer sent you.
