About Me

Howdy! I’m Homer – not like the great poet or even Homer Simpson; think baseball. Because if you adopt me, you will have hit a home run!

Let me tell you a little about me. I came to CBHR with Sam, and we are currently listed as bonded but our foster mom is still trying to determine that. She thinks I might be able to be adopted separately because Sam is recovering from surgery to restore movement to his back legs. I did pretty well on my own while he was away. Sam has to recuperate for a few weeks before he will be ready for adoption.

Foster Mom says I’m a fantastic dog – a real keeper. She says someone out there is looking for a hound just like me. What a compliment! I’m doing very well on housetraining; I let Foster Mom know when I need to go outside, and so does Sam.

I love to go for walks and then just plop down on the floor or my bed when I’m sufficiently tuckered out.

I get along great with other dogs and I’m getting used to the cat. I put myself in the crate and I don’t exhibit aggression or separation anxiety. Foster Mom is planning to take me out to get me used to crowds and to meet people. I don’t have much experience around kiddos, but my foster will make sure I am introduced to some to see how I do.

If you’re interested in a pair of bassets, or maybe even just one basset, contact CBHR to see if we are officially bonded and to find out more about me, Homer! I’ll be eagerly waiting to meet you!

This is Homer, signing off.
