About Me

*Henry is now a Forever Foster. He will continue to bask in the love from his wonderful foster family  for the rest of his days while remaining in CBHR’s care so his considerable medical expenses can be met.*

They call me Henry II, but you may call me “Your Majesty,” because that sure sounds like a royal name to me! Just kidding – I’m not the snooty type. I’m a chill 10-year-old guy, and my favorite pastime is relaxing.

I hang out with the cats and the chickens in the backyard and we all get along great. I am learning to fit in with my fellow dogs, and I’m doing very well. In fact, my foster mom wants to adopt me!

I came to CBHR with a bad boo-boo, but the great folks here got me to a vet and I am doing much better!

At first I wasn’t wild about being fed in the crate – Foster Mom feeds all of us dogs that way so we don’t try to eat each other’s food. But once she switched from a bowl to a plate (much more civilized, don’t you think?), I settled right into the routine.

I only use my ample hound voice when it’s time to eat, and I am otherwise just fitting right in!

I feel like the luckiest guy in the world because I’m pretty sure I’ve found my forever home. But there are lots of other bassets here who would love to be loved – and to give love in return. Have a look around the site and see if one or more of them (we have some bonded pairs) might be a match. Contact CBHR for more information!

CBHR is also always looking for volunteers to help, especially foster families. If you would like to learn more, contact them and they will be happy to help! In the meantime, I, Henry II, bid you a great day!
