About Me
Vroom, vroom! It’s me, Harley, and I’m looking for a family who can help keep up with this spunky guy. I’m a young basset, not quite 3 years old, and I love people and other dogs.
I really enjoy my morning walks with my fosters – they walk about a mile with me, and that improves my mood and my indoor manners. When I get back to the house, I like to chill out and cuddle with the people. It is also helping me get back into shape – I was getting a little chonky.
Since coming to CBHR, I’ve been on several adventures with my foster parents, and I really enjoy meeting new people. They find me entertaining, especially when I try to get their attention by picking up something I’m not supposed to have – the TV remote is a favorite of mine – and running around with it. But I am not aggressive when they try to pull it away from me.
My former owners noted some food aggression, but my fosters haven’t observed that. They don’t have kiddos who carry food around, and my encounters with other humans typically don’t involve food. (I am very curious, however, about what is on the counter, but thankfully my fosters help me resist temptation by not leaving food unattended on the counter. They also feed me separately from the other dogs in the house.
I am fully housebroken and an all-around great guy. My foster parents think I would do very well with an active family who can take me for long walk. Bonus points if they have another dog, because I really love to romp with my fellow canines.
I do have a little separation anxiety and can be destructive if left alone. However, I am not crated and never have been. I’d love a place where someone is home most of the time, and it would help to have an experienced owner who understands how to help me reduce my anxiety.
When it’s time for bed, I snuggle right up with my fosters in their bed and go right to sleep.
I’m almost ready to find my forever family. Could that be you? If you think so, contact CBHR and ask for Harley. I’ll be waiting!
