About Me
Hey there, basset fans! I’m Handsome Hank, and my looks sure live up to that name! I used to be an outdoor dog, and I am liking my new indoor life. I enjoy all the pampering and attention, and the fact that I get fed regularly. I’m a 5-year-old guy who is still looking for his forever family.
Here’s the thing: I can be, well, a challenge. I’ve been taking behavior lessons, but as my foster mom says, when I’m good, I’m very good, and when I’m bad, I’m very bad. I have improved some since my training, but I need a firm but gentle owner who is as active as I am and who will work with me on my quirks.
I really like to play and run, and I get restless. I can be a lot to handle on a leash if I see other dogs, although I have improved some. Although I sometimes get along with other dogs, some of the folks at CBHR think I might do best as an only dog in a home without young children. I do tend to nip sometimes, although my fosters and CBHR are working on that.
My former life was not happy, so I’m a work in progress. But I do enjoy getting loves and pets, and if you work with me, I’ll do my best to remember my manners. I am a little shy meeting new people but I warm up quickly and want to be everyone’s friend. I love to lounge on the bed with my foster people, and I love being able to sleep inside but go outside when I need or want to be.
Maybe I’m not perfect, but CBHR thinks I am worth the effort to work with. I would sure love to meet my forever family. Could it be you? If so, contact CBHR and ask for Hank.
