About Me

Howdy! My name’s Hal, and I am a great companion hound. I’ve settled right into my foster home, although I still have some anxiety about loud noises and unfamiliar situations. I also am back on hold while my new foster works with me on some behavior issues and some aggressive tendencies.

I also love, love, love food and treats and, I’m embarrassed to say, I tend to grab them quickly so no one else can get them. I’m fed separately from the other dogs in the house and haven’t shown aggression toward them when they are eating, though. I also am an expert counter cruiser, so it’s best to keep food out of my long reach.

I’m a good boy when I’m left in the house without being crated, and I haven’t shown any separation anxiety so far. I do love my new pack and love to play!

Foster Mom says I’m a Velcro dog – I do love to find a nice, warm lap to snuggle on. I love the sound of my own houndie voice, and I bark at other dogs and people when I’m nervous. My anxiety is what causes some of my other problems, but CBHR is really committed to working with all of us hounds to help us be our best basset selves.

Contact CBHR to learn more about me. In the meantime, I’m Hal!
