About Me

*Gunnar has been adopted!*

Greetings, hound lovers! I’m a good-looking boy named Gunnar, and I’m around 5 years old. I’ve mostly been an outdoor dog, but I have to say, I am really loving the good life indoors. When I first arrived in my foster home, I was a little scared and subdued, but I am coming out of my shell.

My foster mom thinks I will be a “fabulous dog” for the right forever family. I don’t show any aggressive behavior, and I play well with the other dog in the house. Foster Mom says I have lots of puppy exuberance and act younger than my estimated age. In fact, I really like having another dog around, so if you have another pup, I’m OK with that!

I also love being around people and like to be in the middle of everything. My daily ritual includes morning zoomies all through the house.

I’m a work in progress and am just learning how to ask to go out, since I was an outdoor dog. I do OK on a leash, and am learning to ride well in the car. I am good about going into my crate when my people have to go out. When left to my own devices, I can be a little naughty if I get bored.

I get along well with adults, and Foster Mom plans to see how well I do with children, but she thinks a young, active family might be just the ticket for me since I have so much energy. I’m a small dog but as you can see, I have lots of great basset traits.

Keep checking back for my progress, and if you’d like more information, contact CBHR and ask about Gunnar. Or if you would like to be a foster family, apply on this website. CBHR, an all-volunteer organization, has rescued a lot of hounds since their founding. We bassets sure appreciate them!

For now, I’m signing off.
