Howdy, y’all! I’m Flash, and they think I am a retired hunting dog. CBHR estimates me to be about 12 years old but I act much younger – probably because I’ve kept in good shape on the chase. I’d love to find a home with a fenced backyard and a forever family who will take help me get lots of exercise.
I love to sniff all the smells outside and I especially like the feel of the sun on my back. I’m learning how to walk on a leash but I’m not used to that, and I am still working on my housetraining. I was an outdoor doggie and have to learn how to ask to go outside.
But I do sure love my new life indoors. I’m a sweet and happy boy and love to be around the people. I like to follow them around to make sure they don’t get lost.
I am not crated and am generally a good boy when left alone, except for my housetraining lapses. But don’t you worry – I’m working on that really hard. I am generally calm but sometimes I get the zoomies and have to run through the house. It’s fun!
My fosters say I am dog friendly, but their dog prefers to be an only dog and doesn’t get along great with me. I have tried to chase a cat, so maybe I’m not best suited to a household with felines. I get along great with all the humans I have met so far, although I haven’t been observed around the tiniest people.
