About Me
Well, howdy, folks! My name is Ernest and I am settling into foster life after having some rough times. I was brought in as a stray around the same time as two other houndies found in the same area. As a newbie here, I am still feeling out other people. I get a little intimidated by men but once I get to know they are my friends, I warm up to them.
Ditto with children. I like them and let them pet me, but it makes me uncomfortable if they come running or are being loud – you know, what children normally do. I am working on it but it takes me time to get to know people. But I am not at all aggressive.
Now, personality-wise, I am one sweet boy. I’m about 5 years old, and right now my foster mom is making sure I get my skin problem treated. I’m doing better, though. I am also still learning about this housetraining thing, because I was an outdoor doggie.
Although I don’t jump up on the furniture, I have to say that being indoors sure is preferable. I am beginning to like this!
I follow my foster mom around all the time and really like hanging out with her while she’s cooking. I walk well on the leash and do OK in the car. I like to nap on the floor in my foster parents’ room, but I sleep in a dog pen at night. I also don’t mind trying out the other dogs’ crates for some of my afternoon snoozes.
