About Me
*Elvis and Daisy Mae have been adopted!*
They call me Elvis, like the King, and I came to CBHR bonded with Daisy Mae. There have been a couple of changes since I was first posted, but before I get to that, let me tell you that I’m a cuddly 5-year-old dog who has attached to my foster family like Velcro. Daisy and I werewary meeting new people, and my nervousness and separateion anxiety caused me to bark a lot. But with the help of our foster family and my vet, who prescribed some calming meds, I’m doing really well!
I have to admit that I love me some groceries and will counter surf to get to them. I eat fast and would scarf down the other dogs’ food if I weren’t being fed in my crate. But on the plus side, I am reliably housetrained and love to ride in the car. As I noted before, I also am one big cuddly dude.
One thing we have been working on is our leash manners. We are so excited to go on walks that we pull because of our nervous energy – and because we just can’t wait to take in all the sights and smells. But our fosters are working with us.
We don’t have much experience with children but a calmer environment might be best for us. One great thing about CBHR is that our wonderful fosters spend lots of time helping us socialize and become more relaxed in our surroundings.
I can be easily stressed out by dogs other than Daisy, so we should be he only houndies in the house. We also bark at the neighbor’s cat, so probably no cats.
And here’s the best news: we are available for adoption! We will need a patient owner who can reassure us that we are loved and continue to work with us to bring out our best basset selves. If you think you’d like a pair of beautiful, high-energy bassets, contact CBHR and say you’d like to know more about Daisy Mae and Elvis!
