About Me

*Ellie has been adopted!*

Well, howdy-do! I’m Ellie – you can call me “Miss Ellie” if you prefer. I’m a sweet young girl who is new to CBHR. I’m about 16 months old, and I’m having the time of my life. I love everybody and everything I see, and I’m a happy hound dog.

As a young basset, I have tons of energy, but I also know how to relax and take a good nap after I’ve been out on a walk. I get along well with my foster brother, Mr. Bojangles, although my fosters need to keep me away from his food because he eats slowly and I gobble mine right down. I’m not aggressive, but I wouldn’t want any food to go to waste!

My sniffer is always on active duty, and sometimes I get a whiff from the counter that smells so interesting. But I am obedient when my foster parents tell me no. Why complain when you have it as good as I do?

I’m being treated for a UTI that is hindering my housetraining, but my fosters are confident that will improve as my infection clears up. Even so, I generally make it most of the way through the night before I have to go outside again, so I’m doing a lot better.

FYI, I’m a very long basset hound, and I am quite the extrovert. I am not skittish at all. And I’m good in the car, in crowds and on my leash. I have met big people and small people, and I like them all.

While I am good with other dogs, I haven’t yet been exposed to those critters they call cats, so big question mark there. I’ll be available for adoption once my medical needs are met, and I am looking forward to finding my forever family.

Could it be you? You can find out by contacting CBHR and telling them you want to know more about Ellie! I’ll be right here!
