About Me
Well, hi there! My name is Downie, and I’m a calm, well-mannered, 8-year-old dude who found his way to CBHR as a rehomed basset. I have been a great houseguest and don’t show any destructive behavior or separation anxiety when my fosters are at work. When they leave, I just wait patiently for them to return.
I really love being close to them, and I sleep next to their bed. I’m a little wary of new people at first and will bark if they are in my home, but when I’m out and about, I’m pretty chill with meet-and-greets.
I enjoy playing with my toys but am not much of a chewer. I live in an apartment right now, but my fosters think I would really enjoy a place where I have ready access to the great outdoors – so many wonderful smells out there! I’m a little nervous when I hear strange noises from the other apartments.
My fosters haven’t observed me around children, but my previous owner said I am good with the small humans. I am listed as adoption pending, but CBHR gets new dogs in every month. Sometimes it rains bassets. Some hounds – especially us senior dogs – wait a long time to find their forever home. You know, often we more mature bassets are a great choice.
Have a look around, and keep checking back to see if I’ve finally found my forever family! Downie out!
