About Me
Hi! I’m Dougie, and I have a sad story to tell. I was a happy boy with my former owner, but he passed away unexpectedly and his family reached out to CBHR to help me find a new forever family. I’m a senior basset, about 8 years old, and I sure do love people!
I like to visit with the neighbors and their dog – the two of us play a lot. I do have some anxiety, but that’s understandable because of the trauma I went through when my human died. I whine and cry when my foster people leave the house. I hope I can be adopted by a family that is home a lot. But my fosters are also working with me to reassure me that they will return.
I really love to go on long walks where I can get some exercise and smell all the interesting smells. Even though I have some separation anxiety, my fosters don’t crate me and say I don’t need to be in a crate because I’m a good boy.
I am also housetrained and let my foster mom know when I need to go out, so you won’t have to worry about that. I’m such a sweet and gentle boy that I am just sure someone will want to adopt me. Could that be you?
If so, contact CBHR and tell them you want to know more about me, Dougie!
