About Me
*Dolly and Reba have been adopted!*
Greetings, y’all! I’m Dolly, and I came to CBHR with my best friend Reba. We 4-year-old Southern belles are every bit as regal as the country music queens we are named after! And – update! – we are having a great time!
Our Foster Mom has worked with us to smooth out some of the rough edges we came in with, and she says we are now ready to meet our forever family! We are a couple of sweet girls, and we just love to cuddle. We had some separation anxiety at first, but now we go to our crate without a whimper.
We were so well-behaved that Foster Mom even took us on vacation to Florida. We had a blast! We rode nicely in the car and were calm the whole way. One of us got a little carsick early in our stay at our foster’s home, but we are much more comfortable riding in the car now.
We are good at the vet when we get our nails done – proper Southern ladies always pay attention to their grooming. We are having fun with our foster mom, and she enjoys taking care of us.
We have been working on our manners and learning that the goodies on the counter are off limits. We are very food-motivated but Foster Mom says it hasn’t been a problem.
We are both housetrained and we are good with people of all ages. We get along with other doggies, but we haven’t been observed around cats. We do tend to pull at the leash and bark at passing dogs, but when our foster mom takes us to the dog park and lets us off the leash, we happily romp with the other canines and get along with most everyone.
As a bonded pair, we know we need a special family with enough love for both of us. But we will reciprocate with twice the basset nuzzles. We are still polishing our manners, and if you provide calm, loving guidance, we will be great housemates!
If you have room in your heart and home for a couple of young basset girls, please contact CBHR and tell them Dolly and Reba sent you! And keep checking back to see how we are doing!
