About Me
*Dixie May has been adopted!*
Howdy, everybody! My name is Dixie May, and I’m relatively new to CBHR. I’m going on 4 years old, and I’m settling in with a new foster family. I’m still having some medical needs met, like getting spayed, but I think I have found my forever family.
I am a snuggly girl who loves to hang out with my foster people and watch TV. I am reliably housetrained, too! I also love to be outdoors, but I’m an escape artist, so I have to be watched even when I am outside in the fenced yard (I am good at tunneling under fences).
My fosters are working on my household manners. I like to counter cruise because the people food smells so much better than dog food. But I’m working on waiting to be offered a treat. I also tend to be possessive of my toys and of the people’s attention around other dogs – they think I am an alpha girl. So far, it’s just been a few snarls, and I know I need to have better manners to be ready for a forever family.
I am good with adults but I get so excited to see them that I jump all over people, so I might not be best suited for a home with kids under 8. I also howl when left in my crate, but like I said, I’m still working on my manners. CBHR fosters are great with us houndies and work hard to bring out our best basset selves.
Please take a look at the other bassets on this site. We all want to love and be loved by our forever families!
