About Me
*Daisy has been adopted!*
Hi, everyone! My name’s Daisy, and I’m a lovable, playful girl about 2 years old. I’m a newbie here at Carolina Basset Hound Rescue, but I am sure getting used to the good life. I was rescued from a shelter just a few days before my time was up, so I am very grateful to the good folks at CBHR for saving my young life.
I’m enjoying time with my new foster family, which includes some other doggos, and I’m learning the rules of being a polite indoor hound. But I am already housetrained (except for a couple of accidents while on prednisone, which is understandable).
My fosters say I’m pretty smart – I wait by the door when I need to go out. But I’m also a little crafty because I also wait by the door to try to escape. They are working with me to help me understand that I don’t need to escape this fantastic setup. Luckily, they have a high, secure fence to keep me from letting my curiosity get the better of me.
I enjoy car rides and love to look out the window. Funny story: While I was riding in the car one day, I “accidentally” opened the window. I crack myself up.
They say I’m a real rascal with a mischievous streak, and I am one fun-loving hound. As much as I would love to run around and wrestle with the other dogs, I have to stay a little bit quiet because I am being treated for those nasty heartworms. To chill out, I love to lie belly-up on my foster dad’s chest so we both can get in a little nap.
My leash manners could use some polish, but my fosters are working with me on that. And while I get along great with most dogs, I met a big one I wasn’t too fond of recently. When I am playing, I like to growl and bark. In fact, I love the sound of my own voice – ARROOO! – and bark when I get really excited.
My fosters think I could benefit from some obedience training, but I am a smart cookie and am eager to become my best basset self so I can be ready to meet my forever family. If you’d like to learn what joy I can bring to your life, just contact CBHR and ask for me, Daisy! I can’t wait to introduce myself!
