About Me
Howdy, folks! My name’s Cotton, and I am a loving but timid hound. I’m almost 3 years old, and I would do best in a quiet household without too much noise or chaos. I’m a snuggler and love to be close to my people, but I am hesitant when I meet new people.
I would love a home with a retired couple or where someone is home a lot, because I miss being around people.
I’m good with other dogs, although I initially had some resource guarding issues. Now that I’m socialized better, that has improved, but CBHR is looking into getting me a trainer to help me learn how to meet new people and dogs politely and confidently.
I will let you know when someone comes to the door – I tend to bark a lot at new people and dogs, and we are working on that too. I like adults once I warm up to them, but I probably wouldnot be best for an active home with young children. I let the people know when I need to go out, and I walk well on a leash as long as you let me follow my nose and take my sweet time.
I’m sure that once I get settled into my forever home, I will be more laid back. I’m getting better every day, and consistent, gentle guidance will help me be my best basset self. If you are interested in finding out more about me, contact CBHR. I’ll be waiting!
