About Me

Hello, basset lovers! I’m one smart Cookie – and I’m living up to my name. I’m a happy, adaptable 5-year-old girl with tons of energy and a good attitude.

I love to run and play, and I’m getting along great with my canine foster sibling. I’m ISO a busy, energetic home with kiddos or another dog so I can live my best life. Bonus if the adult humans throw toys and play with me a lot. I’m so fun-loving, I just can’t get enough!

I’m still learning all the rules of the house but I’m adapting so well. I let my people know when I need to go out and am working on making sure I don’t have any accidents, but don’t you worry. Like I said, I am one smart Cookie.

I get really excited around people and new experiences and love the sound of my own voice – “Ah-roooo!’ – but my barks are never mean or snarly. I’m just talkative.

My fosters say I have something called Horner’s Syndrome, which makes my third eyelid creep higher into the corner of my eye, so I always look a little groggy. But the vet says not to worry – it doesn’t bother me and correcting it would just be cosmetic surgery. And I’m a natural girl – who needs nips and tucks?

Like I said, I’m excited to explore new experiences, which means I tend to pull on my leash. But my CBHR foster mom is very experienced and is working with me to help me polish my house and leash manners.

Since coming to CBHR, I haven’t been observed around children, but Foster Mom thinks I would thrive in a house with kids and other dogs. No cats, though, please. I am not good with the kitties. They look to me like something to chase.

I’m not quite ready to go to my forever home yet, but it’s never too early to start getting inquiries from families who think I might be a great addition to their household. If you’d like to know more, contact CBHR and tell them you are interested in Cookie. That’s me!
