About Me

*Buddy has been adopted!*

Hey there! They call me Buddy, ’cuz I’m everyone’s best friend. I came to CBHR as a shelter hound – the staff named me Wrinkleton. I was rescued just in the nick of time, so I consider myself one lucky dog! And speaking of luck, a family looking for someone just like me scooped me up right away. They are fostering me while I finish my heartworm treatments and plan to adopt me as soon as I am medically cleared!

The folks at the shelter where I turned up said I’m a good boy, and don’t show any aggression even though I was picked up as a stray, having had to fend for myself. I even got to fly in a plane from the shelter to my temp foster before joining my foster-to-forever journey. CBHR has a volunteer who has his own plane and occasionally transports dogs who have long distances to travel.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I’m a 3-year-old boy and an absolute joy to be around, if you listen to my foster parents. I tried counter cruising a few times, but after gentle correction, I’ve stopped doing that. Not a fan of the crate, but I’m pretty good regardless.

I’m a bit mischievous – I’ll grab loose shoes, but I’m not destructive, and it’s all in good fun, as far as I’m concerned. I like to bark at other dogs who dare enter my yard or walk by the house, but I don’t bark at people.

I’ve learned to let my people know when I need to go out, and I get along with adults of all ages. My fosters haven’t observed me around any kiddos, and I’m also a bit of a mystery when it comes to whether I get along with cats. The shelter staff said yes, but I was not a fan of the hissing kitty I met in one of my locations. (I guess the cat wasn’t too fond of me, either.)

I am great with other dogs, even if I like to bark from the window at them. Overall, I’m a bundle of fun and love, and I’m so happy to have found my forever family so soon. We have a lot of other hounds here who are still desperately seeking some family or person to love. Have a look!

And if you like what you see, I’m going to put a plug in. CBHR had to close intake because the cookie jar was getting a little low, so if you have it in your heart and budget, please consider making a donation so we can reopen our doors to bassets who need us.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. This is Buddy, off to play!
