About Me
You might have heard my name on the radio…. The Cadillac Kings say, “I have bought my last pair of shoes”, and Bob Segar tells the boys, “Betty Lou is getting’ out tonight.” Well, I am a little more refined than either of them say. Let me tell you some details so we can avoid confusion.
In some way, I guess Bob Segar was right because I did get out and was recently found as a stray. That’s where my new story begins, and I am looking for a forever family to help me write the lyrics to my new song. I am about 4 years old and am adjusting well to my foster home. My foster family is working with me and say I am a very sweet girl. I like to ride in the car and prefer to look out the window. I do very well on a leash and love to take walks. Granted, bassets aren’t well known for retrieving, but I will fetch a ball as long as some smell along the way doesn’t gain my attention. Give me a toy that squeaks, and “it is on like donkey kong.” I like the other bassets in my foster home and would play with them if they weren’t quite so lazy. You might guess I am energetic. I love adults and kids and really like getting attention. In return, I am more than happy to give licks and kisses.
It will take a little bit of time before I am ready for adoption. Being on the street left me with a few medical things. I was recently spayed and am getting heartworm treatment. In the meantime, I am working on some of my inside manners… mainly learning to use the doggie door, and being reliably housebroken. None of that outweighs the fact that I will be ready for my forever home as a young, sweet, and loving girl. For now, you might want to contact the CBHR and start working on the melody of our new song together…. Something like “Betty Lou is at home snuggling tonight.”
