About Me
Hello, everyone! Beethoven here. Unlike my namesake, I don’t make a big splash, but I’m a pretty good boy. My foster dad describes me as a “sweet, non-alpha dog” most of the time. I get along well with other dogs and most people, although I have to admit I am a bit skittish when meeting new people or in crowds. I’m getting settled with my foster family, and they have discovered that I like snuggling. I just need help with socialization and adapting to new things and building trust, and we are working on that.
I like to play with toys and my orange ball, and I really like being petted. I walk well on a leash too – no pulling. It has been a big adjustment for me to be in a new environment after being with one person most of my life, but I am making progress. I get along well with the other dog in the household, and I enjoy sleeping on “my” loveseat – although I don’t jump on the furniture without an invitation. My fosters say I am a quick learner! We aren’t using a crate, and I’m not sure I would do well in one.
I’m about 7 years old and a bit on the skinny side – 45 pounds. I understand verbal commands, and I am making good progress on coming inside when called! I would probably prefer a household that is on the quiet side and not too hectic, but I would enjoy being with another dog buddy. Bottom line: I could be a great dog for the right person or family! Ask for me, Beethoven!
