I am Beau! Are you looking for a big snuggle bug in a basset body? Then look no further! I am a big sweet boy looking for my forever home.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself: long ears, big feet, and loads of personality. I love playing with my toys to the point of destruction – no squeaker is safe when I’m around! I am a big lovebug, so when playtime is over, a snuggle and nap are in order, preferably in your lap. I take an allergy pill daily but otherwise am healthy and fit.
So why, do you ask, am I still here at CBHR? Well, I do have a few “quirks”. See, I like my toys and treats so much I will not let anyone take them from me. Foster mom calls it “resource guarding”, and it can be a hard behavior to manage. I also feel like I need to “guard” my humans – I love people so much that sometimes I forget I need to share them. I need parents who can give me lots of patience and understanding, along with a consistent routine and expectations that set me up for success. It would be best if my new home had no young children. If you have another dog, I will adjust best if that dog is self-confident and well-adjusted. In my current foster home I am making great strides with my “quirks”, especially learning to get along with the resident hound. I can do the same for you if you are willing to work with me. I promise I am worth it!
My ideal home is an owner who can set boundaries but is still gentle, a home without kids, no other dogs, and a consistent routine. If you are open to helping me build trust in a forever home, I will promise to always be your best basset whether sleeping on your lap or by your feet.
