About Me

Hello there! My name is Beatrice, and I’m a 2-year-old girl who is one lucky basset hound! My former owner sadly gave me up because she moved for her job and in a home with stairs. Alas, I can’t navigate stairs, so CBHR took me in, and my fosters immediately fell head over heels in love with me!

They want to adopt me once I am medically cleared! I’m a very good girl, although I will grab or chew objects if I’m not getting a suitable amount of attention. Other than that, I am very well behaved and a happy hound.

As a basset hound, I naturally love the sound of my own voice and use it often, barking at passing cars, people walking by, delivery drivers – anything to make my presence known. I’m not aggressive, just noisy. A hound can’t be too watchful, you know.

Even though I found my adoptive family right away, CBHR has a number of bassets – and three beagles – who really long to find their forever families. Some of them have had it pretty rough in life and just need patient, loving people to care for them.

If you’re not sure about adopting, or you just want to help hounds become their best basset selves so they are ready for their happily ever after, CBHR is always looking for foster families. And because they spend a lot of money making sure we bassets get all the medical care we need, contributions are always welcome. It only takes a couple of bassets with serious health needs to deplete the coffers. If you’re looking for a great cause to support, this is it!

I know, because I have benefited from their love and kindness. Contact CBHR to learn more about this wonderful, all-volunteer organization! Tell them Beatrice sent you!
