About Me

*Agnes has been adopted!*

Hello, everyone! Agnes here. I’m a near-perfect basset, but don’t take my word for it. Both foster moms I’ve had say I am a delight to have around. I am a generally well-behaved 6-year-old girl, and I will be attached to you like Velcro.

I love to snuggle with my people, and I love to get close to your face. I get along well with the other dog in the house. I was very curious about this thing called a parakeet, but I’m used to it now and ignore it.

My foster mom says I am very sociable, and I am working on my house manners, like learning not to jump on people. But I respond well to commands, and I am in good health. I’m not crated in the house because I’m a good girl, but I ride well in my crate in the car.

I am an escape artist, so Foster Mom watches me to make sure I don’t bolt out the door. I’m fed separately because I initially did some low growlies when the other dog in the house came near me when I was eating, but I wasn’t aggressive. I don’t like to be awakened sudddenly when I am sleeping, and I will snap if you wake me too fast. I like to be given some time to wake up.

As you might imagine, a girl as nearly perfect as I am already has an interested adopter, but won’t you take a look around at the other bassets on this site? We have gotten a lot of new houndies in this year already, and they all need someone to love them. Some aren’t as perfect or as young as me, but CBHR sincerely believes that there is someone out there for every one of the bassets we take in.

CBHR also spends a lot of money on medical care for us – from routine things like heartworm prevention and vaccinations to some expensive surgeries and treatments for those who need special care. They count on donations to make that happen, so if you are looking for a good cause, please consider them. They have helped so many hounds over the years.

In the meantime, this is Agnes, singing off.
