About Me
*Sweet Sadie has been adopted!*
They call me Sweet Sadie, partly because I’m sweet when getting attention and because CBHR has another Sadie in the rescue. At 19 months, I still have a lot of puppy in me and would benefitfrom some gentle obedience instruction and patient consistency, but I’m definitely worth the work.
I have a lot of energy, so I would do best with an active family that takes me for walks and plays with me in the backyard. I’m very smart. My foster mom taught me to come running to her when she says, “Check in.” It’s her way of letting me and my canine foster sibling know we are playing too roughly and it’s time for a break.
I also know how to sit. Belly rubs and treats are some of my favorite things. I am also fully housetrained, so you won’t have to worry about that.
I do well in my crate but whine for a few minutes because I’d just rather be with the people. When I wake up in the morning, I am ready for breakfast and let Foster Mom know it. I used to try to pull the comforter off FM to let her know I needed to go out, but she corrected me and I know now to be more polite.
I do well around adults, but I probably am not suited for a home with small children. I tried to nip at my foster’s mom while she was loading the dishwasher one night but again, I was corrected. (I really just wanted to help clean the plates.)
My foster sibling and I get along well, but I haven’t been tested around cats. I’m very food motivated, which is great when it comes to learning new commands and behaviors, but not so great when my sniffer gets me in trouble for counter cruising.
If you are looking for a young basset with a lot of love and a lot of energy, I’m your girl. Contact CBHR and let them know you want more info on me, Sweet Sadie!
