Oh, hello there! I’m Fern, and I am a real sweetheart. I came to CBHR as one of three basset hounds rescued from a backyard breeding situation, and I am really loving the indoor life!
I’m a young lady, about 2 years old, and I absolutely love getting pets and attention from the humans. I like the other dog in the house, but people are my favorite. Because I spent so much time outside, I’m still learning my house manners. But I do like being cozy.
I am learning commands and already know when the humans are offering me a treat. I have gotten comfortable enough to explore the house, and I recently learned about this thing called counter surfing. I love walks and hiking, and I have lots of energy. Sometimes I get the zoomies, but I also like to chill.
I get along great with the other dogs, but I would rather be with a human and get some good loves – belly rubs are my favorite! I am working hard on my housetraining and am making good progress; I respond well to praise. The car is not my favorite – I get carsick.
It seems as though I may have found my forever home, but check back on my progress. In the meantime, have a look around the website to meet some of my fellow CBHR hounds. And we will soon have a lot more up there – we just received a number of new houndies.
