About Me

Hello, everybody! My name is Sundance, and I came to CBHR with Butch, although CBHR has since determined we are not bonded. We are lucky 2-year-old boys with a sad story to tell.

You see, our owner died in a house fire, and although we survived, we both had smoke inhalation and developed pneumonia. Thank goodness for the folks at the animal shelter and for CBHR, which took us in and made sure we got the medical care we needed.

I am still recovering but doing much better, and now that I am on the mend I am working with my foster family to get ready for my new forever home. Let me tell you a little about me.

I am a black basset, and I do love me some belly rubs! I hadn’t had any experience with the kiddos till recently, but a group of children came to visit and I loved all over them. In fact, I love just about everyone I meet! I did get jealous when another dog tried to muscle in on my attention from the kids, but Foster Mom just told me to stop and I obliged; she also made me leave the couch, and I haven’t had a repeat of that incident yet.

I get along great with other dogs in general, and I’m still very much a puppy at heart. I get curious about things I’m not supposed to have sometimes, but when Foster Mom tells me to give it back, I do. I’m not crazy about the crate but I go in obediently and sleep in there all night.

I’m settling very nicely in despite some anxiety when I first arrived. I have been through a lot! I still need to be neutered before I am ready to be a forever pal – my housetraining is still spotty but that should improve once I’m neutered.

Butch and I lived outdoors, so I’m also trying to get used to the indoor life. It is a big transition, but I’m young enough to catch on.

Keep checking back on me. CBHR is dedicated to helping hounds like me find the perfect new forever family! I’m Sundance, and I sure would love to meet you! Just ask for Sundance! I’ll be waiting!
