About Me

*Hunter has been adopted!*

Greetings, basset lovers! My name is Hunter and I have a sad story to tell. I was hit by a car and suffered a leg fracture, and I had to have surgery. My owners couldn’t afford my care and sadly relinquished me, but CBHR stepped up.

Now I am recovering nicely, although it may be a little while before I will be fully healed. My foster mom says I’m the best dog ever. I get along well with people and animals – even cats – and I’m an overall easygoing young guy.

I’m only about a year and a half old but Foster Mom says I’m adapting well to my new pack and the rules of the household. She describes me as “delightful and loving” and says even though she hasn’t observed me around children, she thinks I would be OK with them given my laid-back nature. I am also reliably housetrained, so you wouldn’t have to worry about that!

I’m not a fan of being crated and I tend to whine when I’m in there, and I still have some of my puppy tendencies, including the desire to chew most anything I run across. I’m good on a leash and in the car, though.

Foster Mom thinks I could be an only dog or live with a pack, but she feels I would do best in a home where I can receive lots of attention, because I really like the loves.

As I said, I’m not quite finished with my recovery, but if you would like to learn more about me and see if we are a good fit, contact CBHR and tell them Hunter sent you!
