Carolina Basset Hound Rescue depends on your generosity to fulfill its mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming unwanted bassets in the Carolinas. There are several means of providing general or specific support. We welcome both one-time and on-going donations. All contributions are tax deductable to the extent provided by law.
We will never sell, rent, give, or share your personal information with any other person or organization.
One-time Donations
We are always grateful to receive your donations. Your gift may be for general support or you may choose to donate for a specific hound. You may want to make your gift a tribute to honor or remember a friend, loved one, or a cherished pet. CBHR will notify the family of the honored and include the honor in our monthly newsletter.
Monthly Donations
Basset Backers
The Basset Backer program is Carolina Basset Hound Rescue’s general source for sustaining funds. With a continuous and reliable source of income it is much easier for CBHR to provide for our current bassets and plan for the never-ending number of bassets coming from shelters. It is also easier for you, as once you sign up your monthly contribution is drafted automatically from your credit card. You can become a Backer for as little as $10 per month.
Golden Tag Society
The Carolina Basset Hound Rescue senior folk are quite special around here. Help CBHR ensure they can live out their golden years well. We all have a soft spot for those endearing senior hounds that find themselves in the shelters when they should be living out their golden years on a soft warm bed, with love, comfort, and lots of tummy rubs. However, we have found that many of our seniors remain with us for a very long time, if not forever. This is mainly due to their age. We never want to have to say no to a basset, to say, “I’m sorry, you are too old, no one will want to adopt you”. Please help us make sure we never have to turn away these special guys and gals.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Have you checked to see if your company or organization does matching gifts when you donate at work or volunteer so many hours? Ask your human resources department; they will know. If you have a matching program at your employer and would like to learn more about how you can help CBHR, please contact us at rescue@cbhr.com for more information on the setup process.
Facebook Fundraiser
How about asking your friends to celebrate your birthday by making a donation to CBHR in your honor? Is your dog having his birthday or gotacha day coming up? Why not setup a Facebook Birthday Celebration?! This is a great way for your friends and family to honor you or your beloved pup (and you won’t have to worry about receiving another pair of athletic socks!).

IRA Charitable Rollover
If you are 70½ or older, you can support CBHR and lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals with an IRA charitable rollover. In 2015 Congress enacted a permanent extension of the IRA charitable rollover provision, making this an option for gifts in 2015 and beyond. See your IRA custodian for details.
