About Me
Howdy, there! My name’s Blu and I’m a 2-year-old basset who needs a little time to get back to health. I was rehomed by my former family, but I’m settling right in with my foster dad.
We have a great time together, and he is committed to helping me get back to health. I had to have some extra teeth pulled and got a chip put in, but they had a hard time getting the bleeding to stop. Now I’m recuperating and will get bloodwork and other tests when I feel better.
I really like the other basset in the house, and Foster Dad says I fit right in. I’m not a big basset – I’m on the small side, but I make up for my size with enthusiasm. I wasn’t housebroken when I arrived, but I have quickly picked up the concept that I need to let someone know when I have to go outside.
Gotta say, I’m not a fan of the crate. I get really nervous in there, so Foster Dad doesn’t use it and I do just fine.
He likes me so much that he wants to adopt me! Did you know that CBHR fosters have first dibs for adoptions? If you are looking for a basset, consider becoming a foster parent. It’s very rewarding and a great way to “try on” a basset hound. We are always looking for fosters, especially those who are willing to make room in their homes temporarily if CBHR needs to quickly get a dog out of a shelter or if their previous owners need to rehome them immediately.
Meantime, have a look around and keep checking back because we recently got a whole passel of hounds who aren’t yet ready to be posted on the website.
I’m Blu, and I thank you for coming to my TED talk!
