About Me
Hello, World! My name’s Piper and I’m a sassy little basset girl ready to take on anything. I’m a rarity in a rescue – a young puppy. I briefly lived with another family but they realized that puppies are a lot of work and require more attention than they could give me at the time. So here I am, ready to look for my forever family!
I’m just over 3 months old, and that means I have lots of puppy energy and puppy behaviors that my fosters are working with me on. I’m learning my manners and all about this thing they call housetraining. I’m getting better but still have a few accidents in my crate.
I really love playing with toys and every day, I pull all of my toys out of the bin to make sure they all get some of my slobbers. I enjoy being in crowds and I walk like a pro on my leash. I don’t have much experience around the younger humans, but I do great with adults. I also get along with the other dog and even the cat, although I bark at it because I really want to play.
Gotta tell ya, I’m not a fan of being in my crate. I whine and whine, sometimes for a really long time, because I just want to be around the people. But my fosters are trying to help me understand that the crate is also my safe place.
Now, I’m sure there are a lot of you out there thinking you would love a puppy, but I’m already Adoption Pending. Please also look at some of the more “experienced” hounds on this list. They may have a few years on them, but they also are looking for what all dogs crave: love, a happy home and a sense of security.
Contact CBHR to learn more about all of us. They work to make sure every basset is matched with the right family. Now, if you’ll excuse me – See how I’m working on my manners? – I need to go play. Piper out!
