About Me
*Luna and Molly have been adopted!*
Hello, all you basset lovers out there! I’m Luna, a young girl not quite 2 years old. I came to CBHR with my bonded pal, Molly. (If you scroll through the photos, I’m the beautiful black basset girl.)
She’s about 6, but I keep her young. I love to play, and sometimes Molly tells me to go away and let her rest, but we get along well. We like to be outside, but we are still learning how to walk like pros on a leash. We just can’t wait to sniff all the smells – especially if it involves another critter – and we try to pull our walkers over to them. But we are smart, and we hope we soon get the hang of leash manners.
We are also learning our house manners, and Foster Mom says I am a stellar student! We both respond pretty well to commands, but sometimes we get distracted by something that catches our eyes or noses.
Our foster thinks Molly was trained and treated as a hunting dog and had to fight for food with the other dogs, because she is pretty aggressive about chowing down. She feeds us on opposite sides of the room because Molly is not happy having company while eating. She also gets very vocal when the meals are being prepared.
We are housetrained, for the most part, but we do get our foster people up in the middle of the night. They are hoping that with some conditioning and as we get used to the how things work around here, we will settle into a routine.
At first, we were distrustful and didn’t respond to our names, but as we are settling in, we now realize that these people will not abandon or neglect us. In fact, they love us and want to adopt us! I still get fearul around dogs I don’t know, but we are working on that!
Stand by for an update as we get closer to being medically cleared for official adoption. And have a look around because there are some great houndies on this website who are just searching for their forever families? Could it be you? Contact CBHR and tell them Luna and Molly sent you!
